Is it good to buy itunes?

Nevermind getting them for FREE. It’s not about price. It’s about Music’s positive effects… Can the medium diminish the value, and appreciation?

iTunes, CDs, Radio, Satelliete, dont differ, when it’s your Favorite song.

OK, Having lost a few days … I’m Back! How is it sometimes our motivation fluctuates from something that we are passionate about to some other thing that we are passionate about as well. It’s easy to lose sight of the priority of some things this way. What gets you fired up? What allows you to keep your momentum going? DO you have a song that pumps you up?

Whether you are logging in to check on your Yahoo mail, or finding directions on Google maps, or campaigning to view private facebook photos, it is easy to get sidetracked from what it is you set out to do originally on the Internet. Maybe you catch a turn answering your MySpace comments, or just seeing the best buy of the week at www.whateveryouwantonline.com What fires you up to remain on course? I think one solid answer for me, is cranking my music and getting to business. I am getting a ton of truly nice selections of offers and coupons for things that most of us regularly look for or stumble upon while working or just playing on the Internet. And while motivated by music, it is not a time where I am particular to care where it was coming from. I just get a boost, feeling good and listening to music.

Free iTunes codes for MySpace layouts from Google?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

OK, so I am almost setup with my affiliate accounts and then in stead of going to Google for Free iTunes codes for your MySpace layouts; I will be able to offer discounts and additional free items, along with your free iTunes from simply going through my affiliate links!

I even am going to offer a really cool tool for making your own videos, whether you want to have a video launch right after your MySpace login, or just use them for fun in other ways. This is really exciting for me and there is even a nice business use too!

Think about when you are selling, maybe… a house, for instance. I am sure you have seen virtual tour videos for homes being marketed. Well, you could very well use this tool  to create a presentation just like that for any item you are marketing or trying to get interest generated in.

I am confident that this will go over really well for both business and pleasure. I am going to generate a few videos of my own and get them launched fairly soon. I have a few ideas already. I may even use an investment property, which I am familiar with, that is kick butt. It will surely be a good prospect for a trial run with the video creator  for the business application angle.

WISH ME LUCK…

It’s a great day when your alarm clock wakes you with a favorite tune. Yahoo!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Man I love waking up to good music! Now, I know it’s not the same satisfaction that you can get by hunting down a song and nailing a download. Downloading from iTunes, Yahoo Music, or even Google, and utilizing MySpace or Facebook to locate the band, and even searching YouTube for a video, may be satisfying in that you capture what is in your mind and what you are seeking. But I think that not even having an intention of finding the song and having it delivered right to you is a pleasant surprise, much more satisfying and uplifting, maybe because you don’t expect it at that time.

I am steered toward a concept that I use in business…

What if you could get the satisfaction both ways? Actively desiring and then being surprised when you receive something, is a concept behind the Mission for the ©S.I.M.P.L.E. Solutions. Let me explain how exactly it works. One area of the firm takes an inventory of clients, or participants if you will, and their wants and needs. This is accomplished initially by participants answering two ©S.I.M.P.L.E. questions. The first is, “What do you really, really, really want, that you don’t have?”, and the second is, “What do you have, that you really, really, really, don’t want?”.

And as a ©S.I.M.P.L.E. Solutions Specialist, I make the creative connections to accomplish and respond to satisfaction of both of the participants’ answers. Can this same concept work for music? Maybe an engine that you put your song into, and an alert when it is on live or available for download, would be the same. I know my Sirius satellite receiver already alerts me when my songs are on any station and then allows me to select between continuing to enjoy the current station, or to switch over to my alerted selection. Hmmmm.

Until Next Time,

Today was very productive…

And I am still paying good attention to my variety of available music. I am taking notice in the value of music in my day a little bit more cause this kind of feels like a research project. I am actually appreciating more because of it. So there is a value added to the fact that I have the diversity of available media to keep up with the pace of the technology every day that pushes us to be faster and faster.

like I said very busy…

Thank you ALL for a Wonderful Day!

Where do we find our music? iTunes, youtube, yahoo?

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Ok… Time does fly by. And I will immediately add, that it flies by better with music in it. :)

So, here I am blogging for the 2nd day. And I have my music currently playing via satellite radio. And when my mood strikes me i will change the music source to one of the many others which i have readily available to me. We are connected to a world of musical sources. How does this affect the music itself, when we listen to it? Getting back to my Social Psych paper… Music has been used for its healing purposes for ages, prior to the technological boom of today’s spoon fed feeds of it. I recall that to gain the greatest impacts of musics mood managing faculties, you must first listen to something you can identify with, and then change the tunes to something more aligned with where you area seeking to go. For example, if you are angry or upset, you would best be served listening to a heavy or ferocious lick first. And after you are absorbed in it, you would make a gradual change to something not so heavy, maybe just rough or hard. And finally, then once your charge has been dissipated, you would move to something calming and soothing. This has been proven to work much better than just throwing on some pretty ballad, when you are all ramped up, and expecting it to calm you.

When I discovered this through the research (P.S. I am going to look for that paper, so I have the Bibliography), I consciously chose to put it into play. I have certainly found the principle work well. And if you think about it… it should work well. How about the reverse. You want to get pumped up? Can you get energized simply by throwing on a powerful song? Sure. Can you get even more energized by practicing the reverse of the example. Listen to a mood matcher first, then work up to your rocket-fuel. I suppose it depends on if you have time to do so. I suggest trying it. You may be surprised. At time your whole being is "in tune" (no pun intended) and you are able to better channel what you are desiring as an outcome.

So do we all have this selection of "mood matching music" sitting around to just hit play on? Or can we just as easily go on the internet and either download, or play it using iTunes, youtube, or Yahoo Music? Apparently, this is what most of us do do. Without the old hassle, or simplicity of limits. Limits on what music you can choose from or have access to did ot used to seem like to much of a problem. You just chose from what was in the house or on the radio. And when you wanted something new, you went out and bought it. And that new piece added to the collection was a proud piece. The work that went into earning the money to buy it, the satisfaction of a job well done and the reward of a new album to have in your personal collection. Oh and not everyone was as likely to just go lending out their music to others. This was a practice that was carefully calculated on the length of time gone, what if anything you could borrow to replace int he meantime, and how well you knew the person borrowing it. This was paramount, knowing that you may never see your new album again, if you lent it out to anyone who you could not trust to return it. Your music had value. Alot of value. Music was carefully cared for when you earned it.

Is it the same today?

Until later remember,

It’s A Great Day!

Howdy!

Well, after considerable effort and troubleshooting. I did it! I am here. Thanks Google!

Got the blog up and running, in a fairly functional fashion. Trial and error took up a great deal of time today, however nowhere near as much time as inaction did. Having thought about launching the blog and not doing it until now was a welcome trade for a few hours of IT PC WP tech stuff. :)

I am so excited to get the discussions going and can’t wait to hear input from all of those who have some value to add.

Hey! I just realized… it’s quiet here. Hang on…

OK .. that’s better.  A little background music does wonders.

My first experience, with a formal insight, into the reason why I enjoy music so much, was back in my first year of college. I was in a Social Psychology class and authored a very fine research paper on the effects of music on individuals. More specifiaclly, the “healing” effects of music. I am proud to say that, not only did I receive an A+++ on the paper, I was asked by the professor to return the following semester as a guest speaker to the class. A little self esteem boost, and a lot of confidence later, It really sunk in that I was on to something.

Well, this was some time ago, and now access to music has gone through many different and exciting transformations. Today, I would like to revisit the “research” aspect of the topic and see what has changed.

iTunes seems like a valid place to jump off from. What a concept! What impact this medium of getting your music has and will have on the actual effects of the music itself, is where I am curious to explore.

With music from all five major music companies and more than 600 independent labels, the iTunes Music Store catalog now offers more than 1,000,000 songs. These days, you can Download courses, faculty lectures, interviews, music and sports through iTunes U at prestigious Universities, like Stanford University. This is just the tip of the iceberg, of course. The integration into your lifestyle as a whole, has been pretty heavy duty, thanks to iTunes software.

For now, I would like to focus on just the music aspect of iTunes. This one realm will surely provide plenty of data to get my “research” mission accomplished.

So, we’re off to a good start. The question I will leave you with today is…

Has the pleasure we get, or the healing benefits of the music we listen to, been affected by the mediums by which we get it?

Until later remember,
